Revit - Revit MEDIT Measurements on ®

A great revitiano English, shared with me, this new Revit application. He asked me to extend to all who read this blog, and here goes ...

Thanks Alberto!, And always remember us and keep up with these developments

MEDIT: Measurements on Revit ®

Pantalla principal de la aplicación.

Medit is an extension of Autodesk Revit ® improving the information and contents of the model by linking Revit family types and predefined elements of financial databases developed construction prices FIEBDC formats.
Medit functionalities are operating within their own work session of Revit ® and features a streamlined user interface to make these links. This allows designers to incorporate the Revit model, interactively, the standard definition of items and their cost, while developing the project.
To
Medit assignments works equally well with the types or existing materials in the Revit model:
• Types hierarchically organized by categories and Families Revit with information on your level and item ID.
• Materials are organized hierarchically based on the Types in which they operate.
With Medit user dynamically organizes the budget Chapters by those who moved Revit Model Types. In this way the budget is automatically updated by the measurement lines of the new elements and new types that are incorporated into the Revit model.
The budget is thus a cost model linked to the Revit model that provides valuable information from the initial phases of the project to completion.

This is especially effective when combined with the partition Medit Revit Model into subprojects, making teamwork is highly productive.
DATABASES PRICES OF CONSTRUCTION
Medit Bases can load as many formats Price FIEBDC-3 as desired, in a quick and easy.

If you wish, you can also make a short list of budget items and upload Medit. So you can have 80 0 90% of the games predictable and add missing from other price bases.

bases loaded in Medit prices can be edited by modifying the wording of its definition and stored for use in other budgets.

The selected items can also be edited once incorporated into the budget for specific use for once.
EXPORT AND OTHER FEATURES

Medit exports all related information between Revit Model and Cost Model to other formats:

FIEBDC-3 : The budget is important to all business applications and Budget Measures (Memphis, Presto, etc) to continue his work editing Justification for price and aids that have not been reflected in the Revit model.
EXCEL : Cost Model can be exported to Excel at any time, generating a 3-Book Excel Budget Sheets Complete (Full descriptions of measurement lines), the Budget Summary (Summary Departure no measurement lines) and the Summary of Chapters. All Excel worksheets have calculated fields, so the user can change the weight or measurement or adding items, getting the total budget to date.
KEY NOTES : Medit generates a Keynote file with the same file name Revit so that the user can write using Keynotes or material elements of the model with the same number and name that budget items.
FACTOR : Medit allows the user to apply a factor the measurements, so measurements of length, area or volume are easily converted to weight or unit amounts of material. For example, the surface facing brick m2 multiplied by a factor of 36 ladrillos/m2 results of measuring the number of units facing bricks to be used in the work

By using a shared project, you can edit individual elements or sub-projects. When removing these, the elements are visible to other users but can not edit until the borrower assigns the element or subproject.
When requesting a loan of an item that does not belong to any other user, you automatically grant the permission to edit the item.
If you need to modify an item that belongs to another team member, can apply for the loan of the item only.

Loan items

If the element belongs to another user must apply for the loan. When the application is approved, you can edit element. If you get a change to the item, you are prompted to load the latest changes from the central file before proceeding to edit the item.
By borrowing an item from a sub, its name appears in column Borrowers Subprojects dialog box. His name also appears in the Properties dialog box copy of the parameter.

To borrow an item

· Select an item not editable. An icon that says Make Element Editable / Make edits, when you stand on it.

· Click on the icon, this will be available if another user is editing. If another user is editing it, or another team member owns the subproject to which it belongs, a message indicating that you can not edit it until the other user depresses.

Working offline in another location

is possible to work remotely, if users have access to the central file through a network of high speed or either your local files can be transferred to a person who has access to the network.

to work offline or in another location :

· Mientras esté en la oficina, con una conexión a la red, haga editables los subproyectos pertinentes.
·          Asegúrese de guardar el archivo local antes de cerrarlo; de lo contrario, los cambios efectuados en las condiciones de edición del subproyecto no se guardarán en el archivo local al desconectarse.
· The method of work on the project outside the office is equal to that used in the office. You can modify editable sub-items, you can create new items in any sub.

Edition other items when working outside the office

To amend a sub-project that is not yours, you can do sub-project status Editable. This is known as Editable risk and should be avoided whenever possible.
· If another team member synchronize any changes made to the same elements that you have changed, you can not synchronize any changes you made to the central file. You will lose all changes you have made all subprojects.
· If working in a sub Editable at risk, follow these recommendations:
· Ask one of your coworkers who are in the office and access to central file log Revit Structure as if you and enter your name and username.
· Also ask to open the central file, remove all subprojects that you have as editable at risk, close the file and replace username with yours. There is no need to synchronize with the central file.
· This procedure prevents other users from making the sub-editable and change the same elements. If someone else has drawn a subproject or has borrowed elements of it, there is no guarantee that there will be no conflict cough.

Save Project Sharing files

When you save changes to the local work-sharing, you can choose between two options:
  • Sync central file: Saves changes to it have been made in the local file, and copied to the local file, the changes made by other users within the central computer file since the last synchronization. It would give the items have been borrowed.
  • Save Locally : Proceed in the same way you would with a project file that is not shared.

South Park Wwe Character Co

- I

According to some queries I've had on this subject is that I put this info in 2 or 3 parts as it is extensive, and there are several things to consider.

Teamwork
Revit Structure allows work team with the option to share a project or the use of models linked.
Share a project means you can simultaneously access a shared model through a central file, this function is used for several team members work in a single model, an RVT file.
By using linked models, systems and design elements are divided into individually managed models that can be linked together.
can be used in projects that contain separate buildings (eg a university campus) or to work together with people specializing in various disciplines, both architects and MEP engineers.

Methodology

  • Select the project to share.
  • Enable sharing Project: Upon activation, Revit creates the core file, which is the basis of project data, stored all changes, data from the sub-projects and owners of items.

Once you create the central file, team members should work on local copies.
  • Create Sub: Enabling the sharing of projects are created by default several subprojects, two user-created sub-family and loaded into the project, standards and views.
  • Start sharing Project: Team members can create a central copy of your hard disk or local network , to start sharing the spotlight.

sharing common tasks Project includes:
  • Create a local copy center
  • ; Open and edit the copy central core file
  • Post Changes in the central file and get the latest changes in the file
  • Work Offline or another location
Sharing Project Activation
  • Open the project file Revit (RVT), which want to use Lapel central archive Collaborate / Work -> Worksets Panel / Sub-projects -> Worksets / Sub-projects .

  • next window opens, which displays the sub-project set up levels and grids. You can change the name if desired. Accept the window.

  • window display sub-projects, accept it.

  • Select the Applications menu -> Save As à Project. Assign a name and location for the Central. Avoid using a decimal point in the name. This file must be stored on a network drive, to which all team members have access.
  • In the dialog box Save As, select the Options button.
  • Select Convert to Central after saving file if it is the first time you save the file, this option is selected by default and can not be changed.

The file is already the focus of the project file. Revit creates the file in the specified directory, and also creates a backup folder for the file, which contains also permits editing the core.
Revit_temp folder contains files that Worksharing Monitor provides information on the progress of various operations.

Sub-Project Settings

A sub-project is a set of elements. Only one user can edit a sub-project level, all members can see other team members, but can not make changes. This avoids potential conflicts within the project.
The dialog Worksets / Sub-Project contains the following information:

  • Worksets Active / Active Sub-Projects: Indicates the sub-project to that adds new elements to incorporate. It may be a sub-project editable by the user, or it may belong to another team member.
  • Inactive WorkSet Gray Graphics / Show graphics gray sub-projects inactive griz shows the elements in the drawing area not belonging to the sub-active project. Only affects the screen display, not printing.
  • Name / Title: Indicate the name of the sub-project.
  • Editable / Editable: Indicates the parameter a sub-project. You can not change the state, until the file is synchronized with the central.
  • Owner / Owner: Indicate who is the owner. If the editable parameter indicates whether, or if you select this option, this user becomes the owner of the sub-project.
  • Borrowers / Borrowers: Displays users who are using an item borrowed from the sub-project. There may be several.
  • Opened / Open: Displays whether a sub-project is open (Yes) or closed (NO). They are visible only in the project, elements of sub-projects open.
  • Show / Show: You can show and hide different types of sub-projects.
Loans elements and sub-projects:
work is recommended on a local copy center, without making the sub-editable. If you edit an item that you are editing any other team member, it automatically becomes the borrower and can apply the changes you want.
is also recommended. Synchronize often the central file, because this way you give the items were borrowed.
With the sub-projects obtain other advantages:
  • edition streamlines the task of
  • ; Control visibility
Default Sub-projects
Created by User: Revit creates 2 sub-projects:
  • Levesls and Grids Shared / Shared Levels and Grids: Contains levels, grids and planes of reference.
  • Workset1 / Subproyecto1: Contains all elements of the existing model. By creating sub-projects, you can assign to other sub-elements.

can change the name of the Sub-project, but not eliminated.
  • Families / Families: Each family is assigned a charged individual sub-project. Can not delete sub-projects of families, or renamed.
  • Views / Views: The sub-projects of view, contain properties from view and specific items such as dimensions or notes texts. By adding an element specific view is added automatically to the corresponding sub-project.

These sub-projects can never be active, but can be made editable to modify specific elements. If the sub-project associated with the view does not appear as editable, change the status to change it.
can not delete or rename a view Sub-projects.
  • Projects Standards / Guidelines Project: Contains all the parameters defined for the project in general.
Comments
  • Project Size: Generally, items that are edited together must be included in a single project.
  • Functions: The structure of sub-projects, may reflect the division of labor.
  • Visibility: Revit performance is better if you set certain sub-projects which are not visible by default.
  • Groups and Families: All the elements of a group, are included in the sub-group draft copy. To edit the group, then the sub-project editable group rate. To edit the elements of a group, then the sub-editable copy of the group project.
Creating a local copy center
recommend creating a local copy center every day, so make sure that there is always a local copy on the drive, every time begins to modify the project.
  • Go to the Tools menu à Open / Open.
  • Navigate to the folder where the central file and select
  • ; sure that this enabled the Create New Local / Create New Local File.

If you select Unlink central file, you will deselect the Create new local file.
  • Open the

Creating a file copy from a central open

  • Go to the Tools menu à Save As / Save As
  • Access to the desired location, name the file and save.
Create Sub-Projects

  • Select the Collaborate tab / Work -> Worksets Panel / Sub-Projects -> Worksets / Sub-projects.
  • Select New / New and name.
  • If you want to display in all views open and new, select Visible by default in all views. You can change the visibility of sub-projects in visibility-Graphics / Visibility-Graph.

  • Accept.
If you are configuring a shared file to your computer and want to assign ownership to each sub-projects, each user must open their own local copy center, select the sub-project and then select Yes in editable column.

  • When you finish creating sub-projects, click on OK.
